Week 8 - Maricela Guardado
I like that the gasoline lights completely cover the cars and its surroundings. The intensity of the light fully encapsulates them (but also the distance from the ground, obviously!). If I were to light this onstage, I think a Fresnel with an R119 frost gel would look really great, recreating the softer edges radiating out from the gas station. I want to add another gel to this to make the look feel "colder," as the light in this image does, but I'm trying to not use grey! It's a lot harder than I thought. Any thoughts?

Such an intense white light! Gas stations are open late and can seem pretty scary, so the more well-lit gas stations are, the more likely a person feels safe enough to stop and get gas ;) Fresnels are already soft, so no frost is necessary! and the light isn't really gray, it's a cooler or colder "white" so being that our theater lamps are really warm, we would have to gel the fixture to cool it down. Blues are nice and cool (kind of like that moonlight/death color we looked at on Thursday...) maybe something like that? Nice job!
