Week 8 Blog- Adedoyin Domingo

I chose this image of the shadow between two chairs because I was really interested in the idea of layering shadows. In our lecture this past week about lighting angles I learned that though the quality and color of the light are very important another extremely important factor is what is not lit and the shadows that are created as a result of this.

Here we see an image of two sofa chairs. The chairs are lit with angled front florescent light on either side. This created a double shadow in the center of the chairs. This created a sort of otherworldly and somber effect that I found interesting. Including color in this would make it even more interesting.

  1. This is super neat!! It could even recreate a moment like a stranger in an alleyway with those shadows. Some color that feels as cold as fluorescents would heighten the moments too, especially with high intensity. This is an inspirational photo!!

  2. There is something really complex about what is seemingly such a clean and simple photo! Love the layering of the shadows and how SOFT each shadow is...really creates a nice symmetry to the photo! Would love to see how color would effect the layering of the shadows too! Might get some really neat steps in the color gradient! Nice work!
